How to Submit a Bug Report
Before you start
- Search the ticket system to make sure your bug hasn't been reported before.
- Make sure your bug is reproducible.
If your bug report relates to the GUI
- Take a screenshot that accurately shows the bug
- Note any settings you have altered from the default
If your bug report relates to the monitoring system
- Save a copy of the offending FAHlog.txt (if you can identify it)
- Reset any monitoring preferences to the defaults and see if the bug still occurs
What to submit
When submitting a bug report, the following information is required to accurately diagnose the problem
- The platform you are running FahMon on (and, if Linux, the version of wxGTK used)
- The version number you are using (if a release version) or the SVN revision
- The exact steps needed to reproduce the bug
- An accurate and precise description of the bug
- The expected behaviour of FahMon if the bug were not present
- Attach any files necessary (FAHlog.txt / screenshots)
SVN related issues
If you don't know if you're using SVN or not, you aren't.
- If a particular SVN revision doesn't compile, there is no need to submit a bug report
- If you have problems accessing the SVN repository, please do submit a bug report
Creating the ticket
You must have an FahMon Trac account to create or modify tickets. Creating an account is a one-step process, and no personal information is required. If you choose to list your email address, it will never be added to any list or sold to any party for any reason whatsoever, and you will automatically receive emails when changes are made to tickets which you create or modify. It will not be publicly viewable, so we recommend including it when registering. Click register to create your account. Then, click New Ticket at the top of the page.
If you already have an account, login, then click New Ticket at the top of the page.
