OS X: Crash on unrecognized locale

Reported by: j-g-faustus Assigned to: uncle_fungus (accepted)

Description

Trying to start the FahMon? app on OS X gives two dialog popups:

* FahMon? 2.3.2b - this locale is not supported by the system
* FahMon? Error - cannot set locale to 'nb_NO'

and FahMon? fails to start.

This is a blocker, as the application doesn't start and cannot be used.

I don't expect FahMon? to be localized for every locale in the world, but I would expect it to default to English if it doesn't recognize the locale.

OS: Mac OS X 10.6.1
OS language: Norwegian (the 'nb' is for 'norsk bokmål', one of two official versions of Norwegian.)

  • status changed from new to assigned.
  • milestone set to 2.4.0.

Hmm, FahMon? should be defaulting to English if no translation can be found for the current locale. However the OS X port is as actively maintained (hence the lack of updates for it).
