Using fahmon on network shares (e.g. "//123.123.123.123/Folding" Causes millions of page faults

Description

I am running fahmon 2.3b on Windows XP SP2.

I have fahmon monitoring 30 network shared "folding@home" folders in a room.

so \\123.123.123.123\Folding

\\234.234.234.234\Folding

and so on. After running for a little under 12 hours I have over a million page faults.

On another computer in another room I have a similar setup, fahmon is watching 12 shares in a similar manner.

On a fresh start of fahmon, I see that the page faults come when the client is updating it's stats from the network shares. I get around 4,000 page faults every time the program updates. Some of the time the program stops responding, and about 10 seconds later when it starts responding it goes up one more page fault (this happens after an update).

The program is in general very unstable while monitoring clients in this manner, fahmon will crash multiple times a day. I'm not sure if this is because of the way I have the clients set up or not, but it makes this program very unusable.

Also, I have this program running on Ubuntu 8.04 as well, monitoring the same systems, and it crashes a lot as well.

I'm new to trac, I'm marking this as major.. Please remark the priority if I got it wrong. Thanks.

Also, this happens whether or not I have fahmon outputting no web interface, a simple one, and the "application" output.

I'm also interested in this style of network shares working reliably. I'm using the notfred boot cd, so the share should be available at \\192.168.100.102\c\etc\folding\1

I'm using fahmon on Windows 7 and just pasting this full sharename into the Add Client dialog box doesn't work. I have to put in the partial name, for example \\35.10.69.186\c\etc\folding and then click on the browse button to browse into the 1 folder. Adding the client that way works. (perhaps this should be a new ticket for a bug?)
